One Word

Not too long ago I was over at a friend's blog and she was sharing how that instead of making a resolution for the new year, she was simply choosing one word to focus on in 2011. Just one, simple word to ingraft into her life. I thought that it was a pretty cool idea, so I finally settled on a word as well! :-)

Choose. That's my word. This year, I want to focus on simply choosing. Choosing to seek God, to love Him more than anything, to serve, to forgive. Choosing to love the unlovely.....Choosing to open my eyes to see God's loving hand in the small things, the huge things, the hard things, the painful things. I tend to be a person who relies waaay to much on my feelings; I'm sure I must be the only person with this inconvenient problem). :-) God's been teaching me lately to use the faith He has given me to break through the lies that Satan enjoys constantly pushing at me.......to not focus on how I feel, but to focus on His truth, because He never changes (yay!).

So what is your one word? I encourage you all to prayerfully choose (pun totally intended) one to set before you for 2011!

Okay, so I was working out this afternoon, listening to my MP3 player, and this song came on. It really spoke to me in light of all that God's been teaching me. :-)
