Iowa! FOR 11 WEEKS!!! :-)
I've been accepted for an internship opportunity with Bright Lights (http://www.brightlights.info/) - a girls ministry in Cedar Rapids! During my time there, I will be learning about lots of cool things, such as computer skills, desktop publishing, discipling girls, and evangelism. I will also be helping to run their ministry and bookstore, as well as traveling with them at the end of April to do the first ever Bright Lights conferences in Arkansas!! I am absolutely pumped!!! This will be a lot different from EXCEL, in that I can bring what ever I want. :-) Plus, I'll be living in a house with the other interns; we get to cook for ourselves, which I'm really looking forward to. And last but not least, I get my own laptop to use while I'm there! Sooooo, that means I'll be able to email ya'll, as well as do some blogging. :-)
I'd really appreciate your prayers as I embark on this adventure with God. I feel so inadequate to do what He is calling me to. I can think of a bunch of other girls who are way more capable of discipling young women than I am. But I know that God has chosen me for a reason. Through my weakness He will show Himself strong, and I can't wait! Also, please pray that I don't get buried in snow......or totally sick of looking at corn. :-)

ReplyDeleteI am beyond excited for you, Baylie! My sister, Evy, has worked some with Bright Lights, and was actually on the first traveling conference (but that was when it was only 11 days). You will be very often in my thoughts and prayers. Love you!
